For the next month the eyes of the planet will be glued on Qatar for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. As the World’s Favourite Players battle it out to determine who is the best in the world at football, The World’s Favourite Paving Sealer has already made its mark on this year’s competition.
As a key part of the transport infrastructure in Qatar, Hamad International Airport will act as one of the main arrival points for players and fans alike, and the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority raised concerns as to whether the sudden influx of additional aircraft, the weight of their payloads and the highly increased volumes of footfall traffic could lead to paver destabilisation.
Up stepped Resiblock, who were able to showcase to QCAA the effectiveness, durability and longevity of Resiblock Sealers from the Ras Laffan Port Terminal project, also in Qatar, and as such Resiblock ‘22’ was specified to be installed at the airport.

This month, we asked the Everbuild BDM’s, Which Country is this year’s FIFA World Cup being held? The answer, of course, is Qatar, and Sales Manager for the South-East, Abdus Qureshi was the quickest to respond correctly, scoring himself a £50 Amazon vocuher. Well Done Abs!

Resiblock, and their ‘Legendary’ Resiblock ’22’, have been specified for Sealing Works for over 1,600m² of Concrete Block Paving at the new Rainbow Lane development in Peasey Hills, Malton, North Yorkshire.
Resiblock ’22’ is to be used to prevent Paver Destabilisation associated with sand loss from vehicular trafficking. The sealer will also prevent sand loss through cleaning regimes such as road sweepers.
Resiblock were able to call upon previous examples of Resiblock ’22’ being specified for this use, following success at Alexandra Meadows in Lymington, Hampshire and both Mersey Way and The Greenway in Didcot, Oxfordshire.
Resiblock has seen not one, but two of its Commercial Sealers specified for use at the new £300 million Defence College of Logistics, Policing and Administration in Worthy Downs, Hampshire known better as Project Wellesley.
Firstly, Resiblock ’22’ has been installed to seal over 2,300m² on Connaught Road (the road leading up to Worthy Downs Barracks), ensuring that the block paving will remain stabilised under the weight of all footfall and vehicular traffic.
Additionally, Resiblock Resiecco was utilised to seal around 1,200m² of pathways, small roads and presentation areas around the College Building. Not only does Resiblock Resiecco prevent paving failure through football traffic, but also protects against food and drink staining, for those areas around the site’s canteen.
Resiblock have teamed with JSA Architects in the specification of Resiblock Resiecco at Gateway Retail Centre, Galway for Knocknacarra Phase 2.
Resiblock have initially provided sealing solutions for an area of around 1500m² for the retail centre car park and footways, which makes up around 50% of total area to be sealed.
With the sealer installed, Resiblock Resiecco will provide sand stabilisation which will prevent the failure of the concrete block paving under the weight of both vehicular and pedestrianised traffic.
Everyone at Resiblock would like to wish all of our Clients, Customers and Contractors a Very Merry Christmas and A Happy, Healthy and Prosperous 2020!
With Block Paving beginning to fail, and two major roundabouts now considered a risk to road users, Preston City Council turned to the expertise of Resiblock to find a sealing solution to ensure the longevity and safety of the councils’ roads.
The presence of weed growth between the mortar jointing had caused the destabilisation of the pavers which were falling into the road, but with refurbished paving installed with new jointing, Resiblock were able to specify the use of Resiblock Resiecco to ensure long-term stabilisation and protection.
The global success of Resiblock Resiecco showed Preston City Council that this was a product to trust and has now ultimately been utilised.
