Kilburn Grange Park Improvements

The Site:

Following initial consultations in 2022, improvements to Kilburn Grange Park from the Kilburn High Road Entrance were finally agreed in 2024. The aim of the project was to remove 20-year old community fencing and create a more vibrant, welcoming entrance to Kilburn Grange Park, to aid accessibility to this locally loved park.

The Challenge:

With the new entrance set to be used by both pedestrians and vehicular traffic, due to the ability to park on site, Camden Borough Council raised concerns over the possibility of staining and joint loss. From an aesthetical standpoint, concerns were also raised over weed growth in the sand joints.

The Solution:

Tobermore, who’s aggregate-topped Fusion Pavers were specified for use on site, recommended Resiblock to both the client and Architects Tetratech. Following consultation between Resiblock and Tetratech, Resiblock ‘22’ A.F was specified to provide joint stabilisation and paver protection.

Resiblock were able to showcase how Resiblock ‘22’ A.F was successfully installed on similar aggregate-topped pavers in Maidstone’s Public Realm project, where similar concerns were raised. With over 7,500m² of paving successfully stabilised, and continually protected since 2018, the client was in agreement that Resiblock was the product of choice for this area too.
