What Resimac does and how to apply it, from preparation to curing

1Clean the surface and sweep away loose stones
Before applying the restorer, ensure the surface is thoroughly cleaned and all loose stones are swept away. Surfaces should be free from dust, dirt, oil, grease and other contamination that might hinder adhesion.

2Jet wash on a reduced pressure setting
Clean the tarmac by jet washing on a low or medium pressure setting to avoid damaging the tarmac surface, removing all loose material, moss and algae. Allow to dry for 5 days before application.

3Pre-treat algae or moss and repair defects
If algae or moss is present, a pre-treatment with a fungicidal wash is advised. Repair any cracks and holes as necessary and ensure repairs are completely dry before treating. Treat oil stains with a proprietary stain remover.

1Stir thoroughly before use
Before commencing, stir the restorer thoroughly. This ensures the pigment and the slip-enhancing additive are fully mixed and not settled at the bottom of the container.

2Mask off adjacent areas
Areas adjacent to neighbours' driveways, flower beds or lawns should be masked off with tape, or planks of wood, to avoid unwanted coverage. Take care to avoid overspill onto planting.

3Apply with a medium-pile roller (above 8°C)
Apply to a clean, dry tarmac surface with temperatures above 8°C and no rain forecast for at least 3 hours after finishing. For best results use an extension-handled roller kit with a medium-pile head. A soft broom or paint brush can be used for borders or hard-to-reach areas. Avoid pooling or ponding.

4Apply a second coat only if required
Resimac is designed as a one-coat application, but a second coat may be applied if required on worn or porous surfaces. Allow at least 2–3 hours between coats (maximum 24 hours), and apply the second coat at half the spread rate of the first.

5Keep traffic off until completely dry
After application, keep vehicles and foot traffic off the tarmac until completely dry. Avoid foot traffic for 3–6 hours and vehicular traffic for 24 hours following application.
