Resiblock Efflorescence Remover is a highly effective way to remove lime salts from block paving. Its effectiveness is based on rapid-action surfactants and a wetting agent — penetration comes about by aqueous evaporation, with acidic action reacted by atmospheric moisture. Its unique wetting action eliminates the problems common to conventional brick-acid systems. It also removes unwanted deposits of mortar, cement slurry and most cement-based paints, and significantly reduces rust and oil stains. Formulated for all types of concrete pavers and flags, and ideal for cleaning stone, slate, quarry tiles, ceramics, pre-cast panels and old concrete floors. Invisible after use.

How to Use

Test on an inconspicuous area first
Always test on an inconspicuous area first, as dilution may be necessary depending on the surface and the severity of the staining.

Wet the pavers first
Wet the pavers first to reduce their absorbency before applying the product. This helps prevent the acid soaking too deeply into the surface.

Apply liberally over the entire area and agitate
Liberally apply Resiblock Efflorescence Remover over the entire area and agitate with a nylon brush. Apply across the whole surface, not just affected patches, to ensure uniform weathering and appearance.

Wait until the reaction stops — do not let it dry out
Wait until the reaction ('fizzing') stops. Do not allow the product to dry out while in use — keep the surface wet with product throughout the reaction.

Rinse thoroughly, then repeat as necessary
Thoroughly rinse the area with copious quantities of water. Repeat the process as necessary for heavier deposits. Take care with run-off — see the safety section regarding waterways and drainage.

Wait at least 2 weeks before sealing
Wait at least 2 weeks to check for re-appearance of efflorescence and to ensure the substrate is thoroughly dry before sealing with a Resiblock sealer such as Resiblock '22'.

First Aid
Skin
In case of accidental skin contamination, wash off immediately with copious amounts of water.
Ingested
In case of accidental ingestion, dilute by drinking large amounts of water and, if possible, neutralise the acid with sodium bicarbonate or chalk. Seek medical advice.
Spillage
Absorb spillages with sawdust and dispose of as special waste using a specialist contractor. After use, swill off with copious quantities of water.
