DESCRIPTIONRESIBLOCK '22' matt paving sealer is a urethane based low viscosity prepolymer in Hydrocarbon solvents. Its function is to penetrate jointing sand and bind the particles together and to the sides of the pavers. RESIBLOCK '22's penetration comes about by solvent evaporation, and polymerisation is created by the atmospheric and residual moisture effecting the cure. The resulting effect is an in-situ bond and stabilisation of the pavement that retains its normal flexural properties. RESIBLOCK '22' matt paving sealer is manufactured under the jurisdiction of ISO 9001.BENEFITS·
Prevent sand being removed by vacuum sweepers.
1. The material to be used for sealing and stabilising the jointing sand shall be RESIBLOCK '22' available from Resiblock Ltd (+44 (0)1268 273344), or equal and approved. RESIBLOCK F.R.I. is the only paver sealer/enhancer to be designed specifically for chevron blocked roundabouts and traffic islands. Its requirement came about because major safety and maintenance problems had been encountered by a significant reduction in the reflective quality of the white pavers by both traffic film build-up and weed infestation. RESIBLOCK F.R.I.'s formulation is based on a specialist aliphatic prepolymer resin in a hydrocarbon solvent. The sealer must be used in conjunction with the unique priming system to ensure adequate penetration of the joints as well as adhesion to the pavers themselves. In the design of RESIBLOCK F.R.I. paving sealer. The following specific considerations had to be made; The Ballotini beaded surface of the pavers is exceptionally coarse, and as such easily retains traffic film and detritus, being particularly noticeable on white blocks. The epoxy/C.R.P. painted finish on the pavers greatly reduces the porosity normally found on standard concrete pavers, preventing the absorption/adhesion characteristic required by most paving sealers. The intensity of the white pavers dictated that any sealer had to be UV light stable. The joints on most roundabouts are filled with kiln dried sand which is either washed out by rainfall or, more usually retain moisture to provide an environment that encourages the growth of weeds and grasses. The sealant not only had to be strong enough to withstand traffic vibration but moreover it had to be able to be cleaned by a pressure washer without significant dislodgement of the epoxied Ballotini surface .BENEFITS ·
Sand loss prevented by rainwater on the banked surfaces.
1. The material to be used for sealing and stabilising the paving/sand shall be RESIBLOCK F.R.I. available from Resiblock Ltd. (+44 (0)1268 273344). 2. The use of the sealer shall be strictly in accordance with details given in the Resiblock Ltd 'Technical & Safety Data Sheets'. 3. Material will need to be a moisture cured liquid prepolymer aliphatic urethane in a hydrocarbon solvent. It should be a two part material with the primer having a resin content of not less than 20% and the sealant itself having a resin content solids of not less than 50%. 4. Any sealer would have to be elastomeric, the requirement for which is specified under ASTM D2370. A minimum elongation of 100% is required. 5. A high order of resistance to most commercially available chemicals is essential.
All hydrocarbons 100% Concentration 6. Application rates should be such to achieve an average depth of joint penetration of 20 mm, with a minimum depth of 10 mm. 7. The material shall demonstrate that it is fully able to bond both the sand filled joints and the reflective beaded surface, whilst at the same time not subject to yellowing by U.V. light. This will need to be demonstrated either by proven safety and performance track record for at least 2 years or similar pavements or by full scale tests at an approved laboratory (i.e. TRL Crowthorne)
DESCRIPTIONRESIECCO environmentally friendly is based on a thermoplastic acrylic copolymer emulsion. Whitish when in liquid state, it becomes clear when dry. Since it is solvent free it does not give off unpleasant odours, and is therefore ideal for indoor use. It reduces dust formation inside warehouses and factories by preventing crumbling of concrete floors. It gives a very low satin sheen finish that in most cases does not darken treated surfaces, protecting materials while retaining their original colour. It makes cleaning easier by reducing oil and dirt penetration. It resists both calcium and sea salt. Since it reduces their porosity, vertical surfaces will tend to self-clean under rainfall. Above all RESIECCO's tough sand binding formulation makes it ideal for aggressive vacuum swept shopping centres.BENEFITS·
Solidly binds jointing sand to prevent removal by vacuum sweepers. APPLICATIONSSuitable for use on concrete, clay, natural stone, granite, slate, block pavers, stamped concrete, exposed aggregate panels, concrete slabs, architectural sections, blocks. Pedestrian areas, driveways, swimming pool surrounds, patios, commercial car parks, terraces and warehouse floors.
1. The material to be used for sealing and stabilising jointing sand and paver surface shall be RESIECCO available from Resiblock Ltd (+44 (0)1268 273344). 2. The use of the sealer shall be strictly in accordance with details given in the Resiblock Ltd technical data. 3. The sealer shall be based on a thermoplastic-acrylic copolymer emulsion having its base dilutant as water. It shall also have the following properties: (i) Sealer must be elastomeric.
5. Paving joints shall be completely filled with jointing sand to BS 6717 (for concrete pavers) or BS 6677 (for clay pavers) to the underside of chamfers. After final compaction of the jointing sand the pavers shall be carefully swept to ensure that very little sand remains in the chamfers. Before application of the sealer the surface of pavers shall be dry, free from oil, laitence and loose sand particles. The sealer shall be applied directly from the container and spread evenly on to the pavers using a Resiblock squeegee and allowed to fill the chamfers. The sealer should be worked into the joints, allowed to penetrate, and any excess material spread on to untreated areas. The sealer must not be diluted and once the container has been opened it should be applied without delay. 6. The sealer must be capable of penetrating the dry sand joints to a minimum depth of 10mm and shall form a flexible water and foodstuff resistant bond. 7. The sealer shall have a proven safety and performance record of use on similar pavements to that used on this project.
Whilst our standard sealers are not subject to excessive
degradation by UV light in terms of molecular integrity, they do change
in colour.
High levels of UV radiation such as that experienced in hot climates
(30ºC plus) may cause surface sealants to become dark yellow in
appearance. As a consequence our 2 latest products, RESIBLOCK ULTRA and
RESIBLOCK ULTRA MATT, have been reformulated using an aliphatic based
material which is resistant to high UV exposure levels. However, it should
be stressed that whilst our standard product does not have a significant
resistance to darkening, in all other respects, i.e. elongation, abrasion/chemical
resistance, the qualities remain identical. UV light stable sealers should be specified under the following names: RESIBLOCK SUPERIOR ULTRA
RESIBLOCK E.R.Based on rapid-action surfactants and wetting agents, RESIBLOCK E.R. is a highly effective way to remove lime salts from block paving. RESIBLOCK E.R. will also remove unwanted deposits of mortar, cement slurry and significantly reduce rust and oil stains from block paving and bricks. Ideal for cleaning stone, slate, quarry tiles, ceramics, pre-cast panels and old concrete floors. It will also remove cement based paints. After wetting the pavers first to reduce absorbency, apply RESIBLOCK E.R. liberally on to entire area using a soft broom and agitate with a nylon brush, ensuring it does not dry out while in use. When the reaction has stopped, rinse the area thoroughly. The procedure is repeated as necessary. Always test on an inconspicuous area first, as dilution may be required. Allow at least 2 weeks to check for re-appearance of lime salts before sealing with RESIBLOCK '22'/SUPERIOR. RESICLEANRESICLEAN is a solvented cleaner designed to swiftly remove all RESIBLOCK Sealants from rollers, brushes, squeegees and the One-Step Spreader (before they have dried out). This product is also ideal for removing splashes and spills of uncured RESIBLOCK Sealers from most hard surfaces.RESIBLOCK O.R.RESIBLOCK O.R. is formulated to remove oil, grease and diesel and all hydrocarbons from concrete block paving. It is also ideal to remove heavily impacted oils and greases from warehouse/garage floors. No special tools or equipment are required and it can be effectively used for many other heavy duty cleaning purposes.
