PART 2. Sealers/Stabilisers for SUDS systems, Concrete Block Permeable Paving (CBPP)

Presented by one of our team of Project Consultants, the presentation looks at landmark cases of paving failure. It demonstrates how such failures all too often occur and how these could have been prevented by the specification and installation of a sealer/stabiliser such as a specialist prepolymer urethane sealer (SPPU).

The seminar will address a number of key issues including:-

PART 1. Sealers/Stabilisers for segmental paving

• Safety issues particularly with regard to significantly reducing tripping accidents and the claims which ensue
• Prevention of jointing sand erosion via cleaning regimes, pressure washing and vacuum sweeping
• Infiltration of water and hydrocarbons
• Prevention of pavement failure as a result of bedding sand liquefaction, degradation and freeze/thaw.
• Maintaining the structural integrity of heavy-duty pavements (in particular, ports and airports).
• How a sand stabiliser works in tandem with small element flexibly laid paving.

PART 2. Sealers/Stabilisers for SUDS systems, Concrete Block Permeable Paving (CBPP)

• Significantly reduce weed growth from Jointing aggregate
• Prevent jointing aggregate erosion form cleaning regimes and trafficking
• Demonstrate unimpeded water flow rates via aggregate filled joints (18,750 litres/sec/hectare)

• Efflorescence and how it can be prevented.
• Reduction of maintenance costs by preventing organic growth.
• Detritus resisting coatings.

• Anti-staining. How to reduce the instances of staining of light coloured paving units by foodstuffs, drink, oil, chewing gum and general detritus.

• Discuss academic research offered by Professors J Knapton and J Bensted

It is intended that the seminar will span some 30 minutes with a period for Q and A thereafter. We would suggest that the seminar is conducted over a lunch period, where we will be happy to provide a buffet lunch.
